Ripoff offered us a $5,000 to $12,000 grant for a small fee plus a $299 donation to tsunami victims & identified themselves as being with the Federal Government

We received a call from 1st Nationl Grant. The person was VERY hard to understand, very thick accent. Told us we had been choosen for this grant.

Started asking us a bunch of information right away. We stupidly volunteered everything to them, phone number, address, checking account number. Thank heaven my checking account is overdrawn at this time!

They are supposed to have a representative appear at our door this Saturday with a $100 emergency cash. After we hung up and started talking I realized we didn't have an address or name or anything to really verify this whole thing.

When they called they identified themselves as being with the Federal Government which immediatly makes you flustered. I guess we weren't really on top of things.
I have since called my bank and hopefully prevented any damage from this.
