This is absolutely the worst service ever but I didn't have anything else available when I purchased it. Now I want to cancel it. I called HughesNet THREE times and asked them to cancel the account. There is no option to get to Account Management through there automated phone system, but that is who you have to talk to to have the account canceled. Apparently HughesNet circumvents customers canceling by simply never allowing them to speak to this department. The first two times I called (after waiting on hold for 10-15 minutes) the techs from India attempted to transfer me to the Account Management Dept but as soon as they got off the line, I received a message saying that the transfer could not be completed and I should call the 800 number back. The third time I spoke to a tech in Brownsville, TX. As soon as I told him I wanted to cancel the account and had called three times, he put me on hold without saying a word to me. I waited on hold for 30 minutes as I called my bank and canceled my debit card to prevent the automatic payment I had setup with HughesNet from going through.
