My wife joined Lady of America. Several months later she lost her job. I pleaded with customer service to cancel the contract and they refused. I even offered to pay a penalty to make good on the commitment. They were totally unwilling to work with me despite us being in severely troubled economic times. I can't believe a fitness company run by well respected entrepreneur Roger Wittenberns could be this insensitive and uncaring.
There comes a point where you can't put corporate profitability above the well being of your customers, but that is what Lady of America did here. To make matters worse, I cannot get a call back from a supervisor despite several requests, and all they keep telling us is that they will hurt our credit if we stop paying. And all this at a time when we are literally having a hard time putting food on the table. To me, this reaction is detestable, especially when we made good faith offers to pay several months of dues as a penalty.
