Waiting Too Long For Care

Went to Hospital E.R. With patient, at request of Doctor at approx. 3:20 P.M. (In lobby) told the receptionist and the nurse that patient had a prescription for an outpatient Doplar. But the swelling increased in right leg and foot feel hot. Patients' Dr. Said she needed to go to E.R. It would be a faster way to be seen. At 7:20pm my patience was streched to the limit and I told the front desk that we had waited long enough. We were called in shortly after this. It seemed that others were going into a waiting room faster and with complaints about the same or less. It is challenge to keep a person entertained and redirected for 4 hours. Especially in pain with mental illnesses, not to mention fear.

I have been disappointed other times about time spent in the lobby or in the rooms. Can there be a way a doctor can look at the patient, order tests, then wait. I myself have waited for test results for hours while nurses and doctors stand around talking, joking. Now, I do not have alot of complaints with most of the care received there. The nurses and Doctors seem to be nice, but I will probably bring my clients to Reed City or Munson for most issues. Can you call in more Doctors, PAC or N. P when it is real busy? Another person was vomiting blood and was in the lobby for about 2 hours. Just a suggestion: While nurses are standing around would it be productive to have them stand in rooms of the most hurt to give comfort to patients. I have had nurses do that with me when I was real sick and had no family with me. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
