My husband gave me a gift card from JCON SPA in St Petersburg FL. I used it once in Nov and when I checked out, I specifically asked the cashier how much balance left on the gift card after this payment, and she said "YOU STILL HAVE ENOUGH TO COME BACK, there is $94 on the card."
I did not know how much the original balance was and did not ask my husband, as that would kill the fun part of giving and receiving a gift card. But I was still not sure if I had that much amount on the card, so I called back JCON SPA and confirmed the balance once again.
First of all, they asked me my name and told me "to read me the gift card number so that I can search by number" then preceded to tell her the gift card number, not only once but twice. And she said "that one has $94 left". Now that I learned there was enough amount for me to have another massage at JCON SPA, I made an appointment for J CON SPA Signature Massage. Otherwise I would never afford to spend the outrageous price for 1.5 - hour massage!
A few days after that, I called JCON SPA again to change the appointment. And AGAIN I asked them how much remained on the gift card had. (I gave them the number, not just my name) They said "you have $94 on the card".
After my massage, they told me I OWED $140.00 because there was nothing left on the gift card that I confirmed the balance TWICE. They insisted no matter what happened they need to receive a payment they provided; they did not seem to listen my side of story at all.
My husband talked to a Manager at JCON SPA: Shannon Fitzmeyer and said to be the most IMPOLITE Manager.
She said and I quote: "We usually recommend people to call their lawyers" Good idea!!! We thought as this has to be illegal, and yes WE ARE seeking a Legal counsel over this. The owner of JCON SPA Joe Connell and his manager Shannon Fitzmeyer should be ashamed.
That was my first luxury massage treatment experience at JCON SPA SALON. I was really excited, but how the staff and manager Shannon Fitzmeyer treated us as a customer filled me with regret and I WILL NEVER GO BACK not to mention they ruined the wonderful gift from my Husband.
