Have it your way is not the slogan at the Hilton Head BK. We ordered 2 double cheeseburgers (1 without cheese) and a value fry and gave the clerk our gift card which must have had a balance of about $7. Then we noticed the total was $4.76 after he had charged it to the card and knew that 3 $1 items was not this much. The clerk said not having cheese made it $1.50 more - my husband has asked for the cheese to be left off many times before and it was still $1, so he said okay I'll take the cheese and you can change the bill. So, the clerk rerang it and it came up $3.11, but now we owed them 88 cents because the gift card didn't have enough of a balance. We tried to explain that we were now paying almost $8 for 3 $1 items and they needed to credit us for the first charge. Another clerk came and told us my card didn't work - DUH—it had been used up. We spent over an hour there trying to get our $4 back with no success. Meanwhile several customers walked out because of the wait. The clerk (or manager) was VERY rude and kept giving my husband looks that would kill. Then their system went down and lots more customers walked out.
