I worked for Home Instead Senior Care in Northbrook and it was the worst agency I have ever worked in my ten years of working for agenicies. The office staff treats you like your a dog. I walked in to fill out an application and I was interviewed on the spot by the owner of the company she signed me up for a orientation class and I just assumed I was hired. This was all within 5 minutes of meeting me. I showed up for this class that was four hours long (never got paid for this training!!!). I didnt receive a call for a month finally someone in staffing called me and offered me a job. It was a Monday-Friday 8am-8pm shift that was 60 hours a week!!! They were paying my 10.00 an hour. After I started I realized that I had been working for over a month and they didnt pay me any overtme. I called the office and asked why I didnt receive any overtime and I was told that the law in Illinois is different for healthcare. You are allowed to work 60 hours a week with no overtime!!! I acually worked six days in a row because the family liked me and they didnt have anyone else to fill the shift again, NO OVERTIME!!! The office staff sucks!!! I called off one day because I was sick, and I was HUNG UP on by their Client Manager Cristina. She called me up and screamed at me on the phone!!! That office will treat you like your a dog!!! I agree with the other comment made that they dont do reference checks or background checks. They hired me within 5 minutes!!! Whenever I called the office to update them on my client they didnt want to hear it or they would tell me they would call me back and that never happened!!! I went in the office one afternoon because nobody ever returned my calls and I was shocked the owner of the company was screaming at the top of his lungs at on of the workers. This company should be investigated by the state of Illinois because they dont follow any of the laws!!! Caregivers stay away from this company!!!
