I have been doing security for about 2 Years now. I started out at a great company, security, or at least to me. Any ways I had been with them for about 15 months and at the site I was working at they lost lost their contract to Allied Barton. From what I was told Allied had been under bidding all the local security companies. I did not want to leave, they had been so good to me. Helped me out with overtime and all, but my supervisor at the time told me that was loosing alot of accounts and if Im offered a job to take it. So Allied Hired us on at our same pay rate and everything. I like to research a company before I get too comfortable, such as benefit packages and ect. So at first everything was fine, we all got to keep our jobs, nice benefits, we all were happy. A few months before we switched I requested a mid night shift our midnight person was leaving the company told me that was fine. When we switched I was also told that that that would not be a problem. When the time came for our mid night guy to leave, I was put on midnight shift and we all shared the overtime until my shift was replaced. It took 2 weeks to find some one else, when that person came they became our new midnight person. I may not be familiar with alot of company policies but every job that I obtained has always been, if there is an open position especially with in your department/site/or location the workers already there will be told about the site and given to whom ever wants it. That was my first time visiting the site, now they had just moved to this new location and they are located in a muticompany office building, their office is right around the corner from from a rehabilitation office and I arrived right when it opened up and there were people laying in the hall waiting for the rehab office to open, for a minute i thought I was in the wrong building but I was exactly in the right place. So when I finally talked to some one, I was told that if this person leaves then I can get midnight. My shift was a split shift I did second and third shift. So our third shift person was afraid of the dark so they didnt last long. So we went back to me at third shift and the rest of us splitting shifts for about a month. We got a new guy and once again he was our new third shift person and that time I called to our main branch and was told that I cant jump shifts like that and it would be in possible to fill my shift. We are in a recession every body is looking for work a person who wants to work will take any shift and it was full time, so I did not want to hear that. So any ways I let that go, now to our uniforms we the most trouble getting our things, they gave us used shirts I personally received two shirts with a dirty ring around the collars. I tried to make the best at where I was working I completed so many on line training classes to advance my self in the company, Sunday 7-12-09 I received a phone call from our old site supervisor (they let her go) and she was telling me when they they day they took her off the site, she was on her way to work and they called her and told her not to report in and they would let her know where her new location would be. 3 weeks had passed and she still haven't heard anything so she told me I should leave allied alone. I have bills I cant just up and leave a job. Tuesday 7-14-09 I received a call from my boss telling me not to report to work until further notice. It caught me off guard so I called my site and my boss said he did not know what was going on but that I was to report to our main branch before 5pm. I got dressed and went up there when I arrived the person I was suppose to meet was not there, that is a 35 40 minute drive for me, as of that point i was unemployed til further notice. I dont have extra gas money to throw away like that. For the 2 years I been at that site I have never had a complaint, to show how good my work is, four people not from security but from that site called me today and asked me what going on. I never missed work, never been late, never been wrote up so why am I being removed from my site. When I left the main branch yesterday I filed for unemployment. The district manager who I was suppose to meet with yesterday called me and told me he fought to keep me at my site I know he didnt cause allied dont care about their workers but he told me about two open positions, the first one is 45 minutes to an hour away from my home thats 3x further than my last site meaning 3x more gas I have to put in my car, and I would have to take a $2.00 pay cut. I was barely making it on my regular pay rate, now im driving further and have to take a pay cut. The second site I was told about is part time less than 18 hours a week. It is not easy finding a job out here, if it was i would be writing this I would be at work now. I am an excellent worker but now that I am evaluating all the events that took place, to me it seems like a money issue they have been under bidding the other security companies and I was already put on hold for my earned raises, now I am taken pay cuts and traveling further to work In 3 months and 2 weeks I am moving back to Ga, I was planning on leaving with the company but hell I rather work at Mc Donalds. There is so much curruption in that company, my hands are too tired to type it all but, if you are thinking about working for this company dont, please look into other companies.
