Email offer of medical insurance without pre-existing conditions to replace high premiums of COBRA health coverage. Immediate contact by Insurance Broker who offered greatly reduced premiums for myself, my family and a second policy for adult daughter.
Coverage offered was not in policy sent 8 days later in the mail. When attempts to contact Customer Service failed, I sent in a cancellation fax for both policies and contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges.
The enrollment fee of $75 per policy is non-refundable since I willingly gave the Broker my credit card. I believe it was under false promises of coverage that the policy did not confirm. This included covering pre-existing conditions and allowing only a very low payment for a few doctor visits or some medication. If the actual policy facts were accurately presented at the sales pitch, I would not have enrolled.
