Have been using an alertness drug for some time now. I never had any problems with Medco whatsoever. Caremark, since the end of the year has tried one tactic after another to avoid paying for this necessary drug. This matter was appealed, with verifying information before Dec. 31. This appeal process was to take 30 days, max. Five weeks later, after having heard nothing from Caremark I called them and was told I couldn't speak to anyone in the appeals department. How convenient. Several phone calls later, all made by me, I was told by Caremark that there was some more info they needed from the doctor, and i needed to contact his office. When I asked why hadn't they told me this before, no one could explain. The last I heard, the matter was 'dropped' by the appeal committee, of which I was advised after the fact. So far I have been unable to work for 6 weeks, as I am advised not to work, or even drive without it, and I have not been able to magically cough up the money to pay for this expensive medicine. It appears this is just my problem, not theirs!
