My mother was in lexington rehab, in st peterburg in january and again in febuary, the first time my mom was there we found her many times sitting in wet an soiled panties, she c/o not feeling well when clling my sister called an asked for her to be checked her nurse for the nite stated he peeked in on her when he arrived an she is fine, my sister requested he go check her an her vitals for she has chf, renal failure. An a few other issues he refused until my sister threatend to report him an the rehab, when he did go down he found she was filling with fluids again suggested the next day she see her cardiologist, my sister called her primary an asked rehab to have her prepared next morning to be taken to cardio, when arriving mom was not ready, still c/o of being ill, but primary refused to let her have referal to cardio stating he would come listen to her hisself, he stated he didnt feel she was that bad an ordered her diretic pills, following day s he released her to go home stating she was medically stable she was released an within three hours was rushed to tampa general by ambulance in congestial heart failure an with sepsis infection her blood count was extremely elevated she also had pneumonia which we were told had to have these medical conditions before being released, she spent nearly three weeks in tampa general then n eeded to be released back into a rehab again, due to insurance she had at time she couldnt go to just any rehab nor see any physican, my sister checked out many faucilities butthey were either not clean or within range of her physican she was returned to lexington, which appears to be cleanest one. Once again found soiled, unbathed complaints not taken seriously. Was in therapy where strap which held her up came loose she buckled hit right side under breast c/o thought her ribs were broke sister asked for xray, request denied, from all this turmoil she no longer can walk, stand or barely sit, she c/o left hand feeling numb but that also was not taken serious, a theapist at rehab stated her left side had gotten very weak an now left foot turning clubbed due to left hip extremly weak. They never made reports in thier notes of the incident in therapy. Sister requested cultures and blood count to be done before release this time they waited to inform us of one of cultures had infection upon the hour of leaving, one nurse claimed it was stool culture, other claimed urine, they were very rude to family. Then they requested my sister to sign release papers stating satisfaction of rehab an stating our mother had been rehabiltated. My sister refused due now my mom was worst then first time she was there, so they tried to pressure our mother who has demensia going as far as following her to tranport trying to convince her to sign luckily my sister noticed this from her vehicle and got out an put a stop to the pressure. If you have a ederly love one please be carful on who you and where you leave your loved one.
