A man called me up during working hour and said something about saving money. I think he also mentioned taking $1 off my account and sending me a gift card. He then verified my address. I confirmed with him that that was all and there was nothing hidden behind what he said before I agreed.
Minutes later, another man called and tried to get me into something else similar and then suddenly I realized it's a hoax and got off the phone immediately.
A while later, after I had forgotten the whole thing I got a thick package with grocery coupons and insurance card. I immediately called to cancel it and was told that it would be canceled except that I had to pay a non-refundable $4.95 fee. I agreed and took it as punishment from taking such a call and trying to save money initially.
About a week ago I got my credit card bill and found out that I was not only be charged with that $4.95 non-refundable fee I was told but another $4.95 and a $29.95. I was outrageous.
I had to work so I couldn't call them right after I found out. Therefore I waited until today and called again. I was told that all that I was charged is non-refundable.
I never got any gift card and didn't hear anything about any kind of insurance in the first call. If I had known I wouldn't had agreed because I already have good insurance from work.
