I had a medical procedure done at a Hospital on December 27. Atena didnt pay the claim until December 28 only after repeated calls to them. Aetna paid the Hospital $576.89 for their well-overdue payment but the law firm reported interest due of only $313.99. As a direct result of Aetnas UNTIMELY payment, I have endured countless hours on the phone in 2008 the Hospital, their collection agency, their attorneys, Aetna, and finally, the Maryland Insurance Administration. I have also suffered NEGATIVE CREDIT REPORTING. As if that weren't enough, the minute I had proof of their payment, I faxed it to the Hospital and their attorneys. Four months later, in error their attorneys filed suit and withdrew it but again, that adversely affects my credit because there's no mention that it was in error. I feel all the negative footprints should be re-paved and thereby removed.
