Whylie Eye care Center
My glasses broke in less than a week of receiving them. They broke at no fault of my own and had no trauma. The ear piece broke off during normal wear. Whylies refused to do anything about it. West Des Moines

I was given an eye exam and obtained my glasses through Whylie eye care center. The week I got these glasses the ear piece came off. I took them back to Whylie eye care center and they said the screw was stripped but that my replacement glasses through my insurance had been used up so I couldn't get a new pair.

I explained to the lady that I'd only had them a week and nothing had happened to them that should have caused damage and it was faulty glasses. She said she would talk to the manager and call me back. I called back a couple of days later only to get the same thing they would get back to me. I called back one additional time and got the same answer. Then I had a family emergency and was not able to check again until a couple of weeks ago. I took them back in and got the same answer that they would check with the manager and get back to me. I waited a week and a half and never heard back. So I called and the manager answered. She said they had left no notes of the last times I'd been in or talked to them on the phone. Also she was the new manager so she couldn't do much about it because she hadn't been there when it happened. She said they could give me 20% off a new pair. I told her I just wanted them functional and I didn't want to by a new pair.

She said she would call me back but never did. I called her back the next day and she said that she had called and left a message (we never got any message on our phone from her). She said she would give me 50% off new frames. I told her why would I buy new glasses from them when these ones fell apart after less than a week and they were doing nothing about it. She said I could bring them in (This would be the third time.) so they could see if they were fixable. I'd already been told twice by them they weren't fixable and needed replaced so why would I bring them a third time for the same answer. She then said I was being rude and she was going to hang up with me. I told her if she hangs up on me she was rude because I hadn't cussed or even yelled at her.

I explained I was having to walk around with tape to my glasses and if they didn't resolve this issue I would not do business with them again. Then she replied well that's your choice.
