I am a cosmetologist / salon manager / owner for 17 years. I went to work briefly during down time for Great Clips in Fort. I was approached by the manager about a month after I started (employment dates Oct - Dec) to indenture an apprentice because I had a managers license and was working full time. This salon was so poorly run and managed I couldn't stand the impersonal traits of the franchise, let alone the owner had money to invest and had never touched a head of hair. After continually being scheduled 40 hours a week, 6 days, I had enough and left.
Two days ago I get a letter from State Boards of Cosmetology (WI) stating the salon was under investigation from a complain received. I was then told I had been the manager of record from 10 - 5. So in turn all of her salons, Watertown, Oconomowoc, and two others acquired since I left are all under scrutiny by the state. I have since contacted corporate, and an attorney. The rest remains to be seen.
