I have long, thick hair and in the past when received perms, the stylist used 2-3 boxes of perm solutions. I went to Great Clips and the first stylist used only 1 box of perm solution and after a few days, I washed my hair and my curls went flat! I went back to the salon a week from the first perm and the assistant manager who saw me the first time, asked me what happened to my curls. I explained that I waited a few days to wash my hair and the curls were gone. She asked me if I wanted her to redo the perm free of charge and I said okay.
She redid the perm, wrapped my hair in a slightly rod and used only 1 bottle of solution. Both women stated my hair was thick and that I had alot of it. I asked her if she should have used more than 1 bottle of solution, she said no.
I went home and waited 3 days to wash my hair and a few days later, my hair lost most of its curl when I ran a pick through it. I explained to them that I used John Freida frizz ease for curl shampoo and conditioner and I purchased the Curl Life from them. Without the curl life product, my hair would be flat. I paid 75.00 for my perm and the assistant manager said that she did a good job on my hair and that it was probably from my shampoo and conditioner. They will not work with me in resolving this issue by refunding me money back.
I went to JCPenny Salon and they looked over my hair, recut it, and told me that they would have used 2 or more boxes on my hair as well. Now I have to have it deep conditioned and Great Clips is not willing to accept responsibility now. The assistant manager stated that perhaps I might not be a good candidate for a perm.
