I received a root canal and crown from Lake Erie Dental. Prior to having the procedure done, I asked Sue (in the office) to call my dental provider and confirm what would be covered and what is not covered, so I could chose my method of treatment appropriately. I was prepared to have it pulled if I had to, since the tooth is in the back and crowns are pricy when out of pocket.
The ladies in the office came back and said that 80% of the procedures were covered, so i went ahead with the root canal and the temporary crown and they put the remaining 20% balance on my credit card.
I had my final crown installed on 5/14/09 and just an hour after I got home - Sue (office lady) called to tell me as she laughed that my insurance covered NOTHING! My insurance company said, yes they do (stainless steel crowns) and they told Sue that.
I have been back and forth with Lake Erie Dental, they chose to do a porcelin crown - I chose to do what was covered. When I told them I am not willing to pay for services I did not agree to - they told me, than take us to court! We will have the dentist call his attorney! THE OFFICE STAFF WAS RUDE, AND DR. Sambuchino's office is a scam...!!! Steer clear! The office staff isn't educated enought to get the insurance information correct.
