Carter Psychology
Fraudulent ripoff business

I took my son to see a doctor to determine if he qualified for medication for ADHD. They told me that he needed to have alot of tests done before they could prescribe any medication for ADHD per state laws. I gave them the testing already done by his school.

When I had made my first phone call to this office they quoted me a price of $150 an hour for doctor visits and $175 an hour for tests. MY son had two testing sessions and saw the doctor once. I was paying with cash in full each time for his apointments.

The second visit I was told that I was being charged for time they spent on my sons case while we were not there. I was shocked it was never explained to me by the doctor.

So we figured out the balance owed of $350 ontop of the $300 already paid to them. My mother went to pay some money to them on the arrangements we had set up with them for the balance due. At that time they told her that we owed over $800 dollars.

As you can imagine we were shocked. The doctor we had seen called me to tell me that she had forgotten to do some testing and my son would need to have more tests done. At that time I told her that we were unaware of all these charges and that we could not afford any more testing. She said she had no idea of what was being charged and that the head of the group Dr. Carter set all the prices and charges.

I called to find out why the amount had gone up and was treated rudly and hung up on by the office manager who told me that the doctors set the prices she just collects the money. She told me only the doctors could adjust the money owed but they did not want to talk to me and she would relay the message.

Of course I never heard from them regarding the account except a bill for the money owed. I was so angry that they wasted 6-7 months of my time and my son still could not get any help according to them until the tests were complete. I called my insurance company to see if we could get in to see a doctor about his behavior problems.

We took all the info we had with us to the new doctor and he told us based on what we already had from the school was enough to get my son help with his ADHD. I was relieved someone was helping my son but very upset that we wasted so much time with those ripoff artists claiming to be doctors helping people.
