Twelve months ago I sent Massagio the required registered/return receipt letter to cancel my membership after 12 months. At that time, I indicated to them that I was happy with their service however I had lost my job. I didn't here from them for a number of months. Then the letter came indicating that they could not charge my card & I owed them for 3 or so months. My card had in fact expired but since I cancelled I saw no reason to give them the update. I sent the bill back indicating that I had cancelled the membership months before. Again I heard nothing for some time and then another letter arrived. I shouldn't have but I ignored the bill.
While a member I had purchased some gift certificates using another card, Amex. All of a sudden, my Amex bill was charged for 7 months. I walked into the spa requesting to speak to a a manager who as usual was not there and no cancellation service could be done at the spa. There were no customers or service providers that I could see as I walked back into the waiting room. I indicated that I had followed the process & was told I needed to send another letter. At this point, I went to American Express to challenge the charges & they were reversed.
However, I just got a letter from American Express indicating that Massagio sent them a copy of the contract which gives them the right to charge the card that was not authorized. I will contact American Express to get a copy of what was sent them as I can no longer find my copy & will be contacting an attorney to get this stopped.
