Acia Ripoff - Using Oprah's picture to gain trust

I ordered AciaPure on line from Central Coast Nutra on September 20th. I called to cancel my order on Sept 21st. It took more than 12 calls to get thru to them. A man answered and told me that the product had already shipped. I found that a little strange as I ordered on a Sunday. He also said that when I received the product I should mark it Return to Sender and as soon as they received it they would refund my money. I asked him if I needed a MRA and if so would he give it to me. He said he couldn't do that because there was no way to know what my account number was. That's also strange. I seriously doubt they would have shipped the product without creating an account. The man was rude and he seemed very unsure of what he was saying. I just figured he was probably new at the job.

When I checked my bank account that same day the charge for the $41.95 was on my account, that was on Sept 21st. It posted to my account on Sept. 22nd. When I finally received the product the date of shipping was Sept. 23rd. Obviously they waited until my Visa had cleared the bank before shipping. (I have since checked my Visa for further charges and cancelld the card I ordered the product with. I suggest this same action to anyone who has used a Debt or credit card to order anything from Central Coast Nutra.) I called the number, 1-888-692-8352, several times, sometimes without getting an answer, and when I did the man kept saying it was shipped and he had a tracking number from the post office and could see it hadn't been received. The last call I made was on Oct. 7th.

The package finally arrived on Oct. 8th. It had a label marked First Class Mail and shipped Sept. 23rd. I am still wondering how FCM took so long.

I was going to try to get a MRA number from the company but something told me not to even try and to open the package instead. Am I ever glad I did! To my surprise there was also two products I hadn't ordered, Hoodia Water and Hoodia gum and the trial bottle of AciaPure. Then I read the letter included in the package.

Rember, the order was for a trial bottle of AciaPure only. The words free trial iare the operative words here. There AciaPure is listed on the invoice as free but the gum was listed as $9.95 and the Hoodia Water listed as $29.95!

The letter included in the package states that any package marked Return To Sender would not get a refund. Any product except the free trial products would not receive a refund. Any opened product would not receive a refund. The letter also says that there is a 15% restocking fee for all returned products. How do give you a refund on a $0.00 charge and why would anyone send it back? I can't use the Hoodia Water because I can't read the instructions even with a magnifying glass! There are only 12 pieces of gum for $9.95!

I also noticed that the address on the AciaPure bottle is listed as Central Coast Nutraceuticals, 2375 E Camelback Road 5th Floor, Phoenix, AZ. 85016.
The shipping address is in Largo, FL. The Phoenix address has the same phone number as the e-mail. I believe the two different addresses are both the same people but most people would be confused by that.

I am not sending anything back even with a return receipt request. My feeling is that they would refuse to except the package and there would be a refund.

This is a scam of the worst kind. I hope people will cancel any card they have used to order from this company. You'd be surprised what a company can do with a card number.
