Along with the other complaint about this Dr. Bernotas, I too know her to be of very poor character. She was assigned to my divorce case.
She lied about the results of the MMPI2 (not my opinion, that of a Psychologist authorized by the APA to administer the test. Dr. Bernotas is not) and diagnosed me with "Psychological Disorder-not otherwise specified".in other words, she had no evidence.
She reported me as being convicted of crimes for which I have never been charged. My only conviction is a speeding ticket more than 20 years ago.
She fabricated events (I have evidence).
My ex left me for a man (she and my child were living with him) that was sentenced to 8 months in prison for Domestic Violence (he has several convictions). There were numerous orders of protection against him. He wasn't allowed to see his own children for many years. She completely omitted that from her report.
I too lost custody of my son and he was alienated from me for over two years. This is due, in great part, to Dr. Bernotas.
The last I knew, Dr. Bernotas was working for the County of St. Louis, MO where she enjoys full immunity of her illegal and unethical conduct. I can only recommend her undertaker bury her face down, because that is where she will deservedly go. Any civilized state will forbid Dr. Bernotas from her chosen practice.
