I signed up for 3 years of membership with Lady USA Fitness in North Richland Hills, Texas. After going for only 3 weeks, I decided to quit the gym. I paid up for all 3 years in full. I have a letter from their billing Company "Matrix Acceptance" dated 10/12 as follows:
"As you requested, this letter is to verify that according to our records your account has been paid in full up to 9/1. Nor further payment is required on this account. Thank you for your help in getting this matter resolved.".
The membership contract expires on 8/1. The above letter is addressed to me and my address is clearly shown. This was on their letterhead as well.
Today, I receive a bill saying that I owe $88/-. Also, they would not cancel my membership without paying up $88/- fees. I remember sending them a fax to cancel my membership way back in 2006.
I feel that cancellation should not be dependent on past due amount. Also, I have requested this letter in anticipation of such things happening. The latest billing company that is harassing me is "National Fitness Financial". Their phone number is (800) 658-7727 and they are located in Layton, UT.
