Ackground:
1.5-24-08- sent prescription for optivar eye drops for itchy eyes do to spring allergies [my current bottle was empty ]
2. Approximate 1 week later 6-5-08 received 8 boxes of eye drops which is a 24 year supply, according to my calculations.
3. I immediately phoned caremark and reported this outrageous supply of eye drops.
4. Their reply was;" the doctors prescription called for 8 refills and drugs cannot be returned.
5. I asked why they didn't call us to confirm the amount, their answer was" they called the doctor." the doctors office had no record of that call.
Summary:
i use the eye drops only for spring allergies, the bottle i had, has lasted for 3 years. Any copetent drugist would know that 8 bottles is much. I feel it was caremark's mistake and i should have received a refund. We are on a fixed income and cannot pay $ 150.00 for someone elses mistake.
