I first joined Contour's Express in February. When I initially joined, the agreement was a three month membership, billable monthly.
I went to Contours for about three months until I decided to stop going.
After the three months was up, Contour's Express continued to bill my credit card every month for an additional three months.
I called and spoke with Susan - the owner of the franchise location in Phoenixville, PA. After explaining to her that I was of the understanding that my agreement was for three months and that I was confused as to why I was continually billed, she said that "I can bill you for an entire year if I want to"- without even listening to the fact that I didn't even live in the Phoenixville area any more and hadn't stepped foot in her gym for over three months.
I went through many phone calls and sent a certified letter demanding a refund for the three months that I didn't use the gym and was denied.
The only thing that did happen was that she finally stopped billing me after many phone calls and letters.
So essentially, buyer beware - make sure Susan tells you directly how her billing practices work. And be sure to get her signature as well.
