Core Fitness Club, LLC in Aurora, IL closed its doors overnight at the end of February with no warning to its members. They were even taking new memberships the day before they closed!
Since then they have been trying to bill members credit cards, and now a company called Anytime Fitness is billing the ex Core Members. Upon calling them they state that they "purchased the memberships" from Core.
Unfortunately for them, they don't offer the same services (pool, daycare) and under contract law that makes it ineligible for assignment!
The people at Anytime are not helpful to the ex Core members at all, refusing to discuss contract terms, and many have stated that they are not even honoring previous contract terms and negotiations that they had with Core!
Some of ex Core members are working together to consider bringing legal action against Anytime Fitness if they refuse to terminate contracts which they have no right to. Email us at [email protected] for more info
