I had worked for Great Clips. I got a call from my sister that my Dad was in the hospital and had suffered a cardiac arrest and that he was put on life support. I called the hospital and they said that my Dad would not make it.
I told my manager that I had to leave. My Dad passed away the next day. I took about a week and a half off to attend to family business and his funeral.
Great Clips had sent over flowers. The flowers came it a tea cup, probably cost them about $4.99.
When I returned to work, Rebecca, the manager called me in the office. She said that she had to write me up because I had vacated my shift before it was over. She understood that it was an "emergency", but Great Clips says that you have to spend the time to get someone to cover your shift.
Even though my Dad had died, they did not care.
Needless to say, I no longer work for Great Clips.
Could anyone be so heartless?
