I saw an infomercial about Slendertone (Ab Toner) and thought I check their website www.slendertoneusa.com. After reviewing I figured why not let's try it out. Free trial period & all I had to pay was $14.95 up front.
I entered all my personal information on the sign up form but at that moment decided to search other websites for a cheaper price. Found it on HSN. I placed the order through HSN and the product was delivered.
On 09/05/06, I received an email from this company Slendertone USA thanking me for placing my order??? What order? I never even confirmed or submitted for the order. Not to mention that I ordered from HSN two days earlier.
Immediately after receiving this email I called Slendertone & spoke to a rep. He stated ship the thing back & we will refund the $14.95. I went into my banking statement online & saw no such transaction for $14.95. So I thought I was in the clear.
Several days later UPS comes to deliver the pkg and before they can come up to the door I came out & refused the pkg. On back home went the pkg.
Today, I go to my banking statement online & voila! The charge appears for $14.95 from a 'Bio Medical Research' co. I called & spoke to a supervisor (which by the way there is no one higher than this lady folks - so she says) and she states that a refund will be given in 30 days! 30 days? I never even authorized this charge! This is fraud! The small amount of transaction may sound petty but... It's the principal! The only supervisor there states "Do what you have to do. Wait the 30 days or don't get anything!"
I have gone directly through my bank for resolution. How funny it will be when not only will they HAVE to pay me back my money, but they will also get a chargeback.
