I went to see Dr. Buchanan for an inner ear problem. 1st he determined that I had congestion and said problem would go away on its own. He asked if my hearing was good and I said excellent. He wanted to "see about that" so tested my hearing and declared it was excellent. So he performed a test for novelty reasons and then charged lifewise for Lab Work. He billed for more than one lab work. I called to get clarification. The biller said, "Oh Lifewise only pays so much so we write it off as a lost AND have the customer pay for it.
That is such fraud! A loss is a loss and you don't get paid and call it a loss too!
Also, I asked Lifewise to research this since they are being overbilled for procedures and they supported the Doctor. Of course... They are getting to pass some costs on to the customer. They said the code LAB is used to describe anything that isnt' already billed. How convenient. The two companies are working together.
