My wife had chest pain that seemed excessive so she went to the er to be examined. The hospital ran all nessisary test sparing no expense. Upon signing in she presented all the nessesary insurance information. The hopital never billed my insurance and sent me to colection I was served court papers informing me that legal action was being taking pertaining to this matter and imediatly contacted the hospital and was informed there was a problem with my insurance. I cotacted my insurance company inquireing on the claim and was informed there was no claim made on the matter i question.
I then contacted the hospital and was informed they did not have my insurance info. We imediatly went to the hospital and again provided info. The hospital billing department assured me they would submit the claim. Again the hospital dropped the ball no claim was filled.
So this time i went to the hospital got all ness documents and faxed them directly to my insurance co. I was then informed by my insurance that a year had past since the date off service and the was denied, but was also told that I did not have to pay this bill because the hospital in question is a contacted heathnet provider. Another false statement.By this time a judgement has been enter against me for this bill and attorney fees.
Heathnet also told me to obtain a billing ledger showing that they were billed in a timely manner. So agian I contacted the hospital billing dept and was informed off all notation off all the times i had called and come in pertaining to this bill. I was given a ledger with all ness info. Upon examination off the ledger i noticed all ness insurance info but the typed date on the bill off 08/03 had been overitten by hand 2003 was changed 2004 in poor handwritting.in an apparent attemp to shift blaim. Hope this helps someone to not get caught in a similar situation
