Brick Peterborough Defective GE Stove - GE Electric Stove

My elderly parents 86 and 88 years old puchased a stove Nov. 21 2012. On Jan. 14 while my Mother was cooking a roast there was a loud explosion that sounded like a shotgun. The oven has exploded shattering the glass. My Dad called the Brick and was treated rudely by all staff. They said it was their problem and to contact GE. After several phone calls by my brother and sister 6 days, later finally a technician came to replace the glass on the door. He showed up at noon when they were having lunch and when my Dad said they were eating he said "Do You Want The God Dam Thing Fixed Or Not." Asking what would cause this he proceeded to tell my parents that my Mom must of twisted the door. My Mom is frail and does not even weigh a 100 ibs. And then he proceeded to tell her she needs to wipe the door more often. She had only cooked in the oven a few times. They told him it was cooking hot and he said they would have to book another appointment to have it looked at. What a bunch of crap! There is a safety issue with this oven and needs to be addressed. My parents are afraid to use it. It's a miracle no one was hurt. I finally talked to the Manager David Stanely. What a rude man. I told him that I wanted a new stove or money refunded and he said they would then be stuck with it. I said it should be sent back to the manufactuer he said it was my parents problem. I told him it wasn't safe and will happen again. He said well no one was hurt and it was something in the home that caused it. What does that mean? I've slammed my oven door many times and I have never heard of such a thing. The Brick does not stand behind their products and treat elderly people without any respect. The Manager needs a lesson on customer relations. He was rude and sarcastic. When I told him the oven cooked hot and burnt things he insinuated my Mother (whom is the best cook) didn"t know how to cook. I still can't believe what he said and how he acted. The Brick better teach their employees customer service and stand behind their products! I will never shop there and I will tell everyone I know not to shop there. Bad news travels fast!!!
