Zbiddy unautorized CC charges, shady business practices, scam artists

I signed up for Zbiddy today and was told on the website that I would need to register and provide my card number in order for them to verify my shipping address. I made the stupid mistake of giving them my credit card. They immediately charged me $99 without any confirmation or sales receipt or anything of the sort. It was not clear at all that they were going to charge my card, I thought I had an option of buying bid packs but apparently they just charge you 99 bucks right away without warning you about it. I immediately called them and ask them to give me a refund. The lady on the phone named Reina started to give me a run around about how I should have read the terms and that she was going to give me restaurant vouchers e.T.C. The more I listened the more I realized that I had been had.

The lady went through this long tirade of telling me how I misread the terms of service and that I should just eat the costs and use their bids. After listening to this tripe for about 5 minutes I kept asking for a refund and not taking a NO for an answer. Several times the lady told me she needed to talk to a supervisor and several times I was told that I could not get my refund but I just kept on her. After about 10 minutes of back and forth I told her I wanted to talk to her supervisor and she told me "I am the only one here" at which point I asked her how it is that she talked to her supervisor just 1 MINUTE AGO and now tells me she is the only one there? She finally agreed to give me a full refund of my $99 which she said can take weeks to process. It remains to be seen whether that will actually go through or not, and I am not holding my breath. If they do not issue a full refund I will go to BBB file an FTC report and call my credit card company. These people are the definition of shady business. I have not tried to bid on any of the items but I am quite sure that the process is rigged judging from how they run their business.

All in all this is not a legitimate business, they trick you into giving them your CC number so they can rip you off for $99. It's not obvious from the outset what it is they do, but I suspect the idea behind the business is to get lots of people to to give them your credit card, and then see how many people are adamant enough about getting a refund.in any case some will probably give up and they will get to keep some of the money they stole from the unsuspecting site visitor who thought they were giving the credit card information as a way to verify shipping address.

Whatever you do - DO NOT give them your credit card information. They WILL rip you off for $99 and then chastise you for not reading their Terms of Service or some such bullshit. I wonder where the Govt is in all this? I know I am not the first one ripped off by these people, but I do hope I am the last. Please do not fall for their pretty advertisements and fake auctions. This site exists for one reason only - to charge your card for things you did not buy. Be smart and stay away from them.
