I have been a homeowner for 20 years and have spent at least 1000 dollars a year at home improvement stores. I decided to change all my 40 year old interior doors. Not being an expert, I went to Home Depot and sat down with a millwork "Expert." I told him I did not know whether my doors were left handed or right handed, but I drew a picture for him. He told me those were left handed doors. We ordered them, and when they came in and I went to install them, I found out I had all right handed doors.
I went down to the store and was told I cannot return special orders. I told them their employee had given me the wrong advice and showed them the picture. I cannot even get a manager to talk to me. The employee called my home and told me I never showed him the drawing of the doors. If I had, he would have told me they were right handed. It comes down to my word against his, and I am out $900.
I will never buy anything from Home Depot again. Buyer beware!
