Francis ho fradulent operation, deceptive stay away

Recently purchased a Groupon gift for iphone 4 screen repair for my husband.

Did. Not. Go. Well. At. All.

The only reason I purchased this Groupon was because I thought the value was really worth it. $65.00 for a $138 screen repair? A no brainer. We've been holding out on getting that crack fixed because it just didn't seem worth it... Til the Groupon came along. So I bought it for my husband who's been heavy sighing over that crack ever since it first appeared. Here's what happened:
We live in Oakland (this is important to the story - you'll see why later)
He drove into the city last Wednesday to get the repair done.
(He had to pay tax on my gift. It's not really a gift when the giftee has to pay for something that the Groupon didn't say you have to pay for.) The repair took 2 hours. He waited in SF for it to be done and then came back home.
When he got home, he realized, although the screen was fixed, the camera was no longer working. He called Citicomm Wireless and they told him to bring it back.
He drove into the city again, on Thursday.
He waited in SF for 2 hours. When he came back, they told him they couldn't fix the camera. They told him they would order a replacement phone but he could take his now screen-repaired but camera-broken phone home until they called him sometime the next week to let him know when the replacement phone had arrived. He came back home.
He went the whole weekend without a camera (this made him very sad).
Citicomm Wireless called him on Monday and told him to bring his phone back to the store. They also told him that they were not going to replace his phone as originally promised but they were going to "replace the inside" (whatever that means). This made us nervous.
He drove back to SF yesterday. He waited around for an hour for the repair. He drove home.
When he attempted to restore his backed up data to the phone with the replaced insides, well, let's just say that this did not go well. It took 2 Macs and several hours of attempts and it still didn't restore everything correctly. He's now in the process of having to download all of his apps manually all over again.

So, long story longer, I feel bad that I bought this Groupon. If I had any insight into how much time, trouble and frustration would result in me purchasing this "gift, " I never would have done so. I think the worst part is thinking about how many extra trips were needed for this repair which resulted in a lot of extra gas money spent which, in fact, now brings the actual cost of the Groupon to well beyond the original $138 cost of the non-Groupon-ed screen repair.

Bottom line: will I still use Groupon and still tell all my friends about it? Hell yes. Will I EVER go to Citicomm Wireless again? Hell no.
