I bought a MacBookPro from Apple.com. From the day one, the dvi to hdmi didn't work. First time I went to apple store, they said it is a known LION bug. After 7 months, they realized that this is a hardware problem and they need to change the logic board. They call me later that the hard disk should be changed as well. So I came home and a week after the battery failed in the middle of my presentation.
I brought it back to a apple store and they changed the battery again. The managers told me if again you have any problem we will give you a new one. A week after, the battery failed again. I went to apple store and they said well we need to change the battery again and we cannot give you a new one. They said we need to have 3 major replacements for you so that you can have a new laptop.interestingly, hard disk and battery are called minor replacements even within a month.
I need to mention that I have a PhD in Computer Sciences and I am working with my laptop for like 16 hours a day. I bought this laptop for its "reliability". But what I get from them is "honoring their warranty and fixing it again for me". So far I didn't have my laptop for 7 days last month excluding at least 6 hours of traffic and waiting to leave the laptop and pick it up.
Based on my years of experience and knowledge about computers, the odds of all things go wrong within a month is very low. I am pretty sure something really fundamental is wrong with this laptop and the "geniuses" in "genius bar" cannot realize that. I am so sorry for apple, because they are going down with this customer service. Our com pay wanted to buy 100 iMacs or the office, yet I do my best that they would not make this mistake as I did.
