I placed an order for an electric model airplane with hobbytron.com. It was for a birthday gift. The cost was $130.00 and I paid online with my credit card. The full amount was deducted immediately from my checking account. The occasion was 2 weeks away, so I felt safe with the promised delivery date of 2-3 days.
After 5 business days had passed, I attempted to contact the company via the provided e-mail addresses. After two or three e-mails explaining my position, I finally received word that it was backordered. No one had cared to inform me of this.
After another week had passed, I sent two or three more e-mails and was told that they expected to receive the product from their manufacturer on June 21st. I am still waiting and husband never received his birthday gift. I am angry that they have my money and I have no product.
I have all of the above interactions documented and am planning on seeking legal advice if I do not receive my product within the next week. No company should have your money before you receive what you are paying for!
