Defective product

Screen cracked two months after I got it and HP will not replace item. Customer sservice informs me that it is my fault because I do not know how to open and close the laptop. REALLY!!!
Second rep tells me its an internal error but not HP's problem. And not covered under warrenty. Crap!!!
