I recently contacted the Home Depot in Boulder, CO to get an estimate on a small kitchen floor at a rental property. That was 10 days ago, and I still have not been able to get a quote. Here is the process so far:
1. I called to arrange an appointment for them to measure. I was told I had to pick a flooring before they would schedule.
2. First trip to the store. I picked Alure flooring and put in a request to schedule an appointment. This cost me $50. I was told they would call at about 7:30am the morning of the appointment to give me a 4-hour window for the guy to show up.
3. Prior to the appointment day, I got a call saying they needed the flooring SKU to schedule. I explained that was done. They did not have the number.
4. Second trip to the store. I got the SKU (wrote it down this time) and rescheduled for May 3rd.
5. First trip to the property. The measuring guy showed up on time. He told me I could expect my estimate the next day.
6. I finally got a message on my office phone after business hours, 3 days later, telling me the floor is uneven and Alure flooring will not work. I have to go back to the store to pick a different flooring.
7. Back to the store again. I picked some vinyl flooring just so I could get a quote. The staff now tells me I have to make ANOTHER appointment with an installer so they can give me an accurate quote.
8. I am now waiting for their installer to call me.
Other stores can give me an estimate in a couple of days and one trip. This has now taken several trips to the store and the property, and I still do not have an estimate!
Do not use these guys for installations!
