I'm hoping to support "Dave" who reported earlier this year about Virgin Mobile's Beyond Talk plans that seem to be aimed at kids and texting. I found his posting after I found the same problem with my child's phone: Virgin Mobile automatically puts on the phone a list of links to websites that are inappropriate to kids. The list is under a folder called for him (you can imagine the types of websites listed) and theres another folder for dating. For pre-teens. Really?
In trying to get that list off my child's phone, several customer service reps I talked to seemed surprised to find this outone was sincerely incredulous and went out of his way to find a way to delete that list because I have a daughter, too he said. The only solution they found was to remove all web access from the phone. Thats not much of a solution, especially since it seems web access returns every time you pay for another month. I can't image why anyone would want to push porn on anyone for any reason... But the other "rip off report" parent found that Virgin Mobile apparently owns several of the website.
Let's make some noise so Virgin Mobile will wake up. Based on the very little I've seen about it online, this seems to be a somewhat new problem. But let's make it theirs to clean up. They can do it easily.
