Eturn policy - gateway laptop

My son and daughter purchased a laptop at the Palmdale store around Thanksgiving to give to me as a Christmas gift. On Christmas day we tried to install the computer and found that the browser was corrupted, the touch pad did not work and the computer would not connect to any network. We went to the store and requested that they give us a new one, but they declined because we had the computer more than 14 days. Wow. We could not believe this. We told them that this is like buying a refurbished computer, because it did not work as soon as we installed it. They would not budge. I remember a few years ago I also puirchased something at Best Buy, and had a few problems. At that time I told myselft that I would never purchase anything again at Best Buy. I wish I would have known that my children had planned on purchasing a computer at Best Buy, I would have told them to go somewhere else.
