When a friend called us at the first of this year, they told us they had found a great deal on dish television service—Directv.
They emailed us the website to visit and we did all of the signing up we were supposed to do to get a Visa with $100 credit on it, and to get the Refer a Friend program that also gave us a $100 credit for us and the friends who referred us.
We did everything right—had each others account information, submitted within deadlines, and paid immediately.
Our friends got their Visa card. But it is now three months later and we have yet to receive ours. The company says they don't know anything about anything and we should just "wait a couple more weeks."
As far as the "Refer a Friend" credit goes—it's a lie. They say they will do it and then weeks later send you a letter stating they have denied it because you didn't provide some bit of information. We know this is a lie on their part because we know we did, not once but twice.
When you ask to speak to a supervisor, the rep you are talking to claims he can't let you because you have already been denied so there is no higher authority.
Amazing.
Their commercials claim they have received the highest customer satisfaction ratings of any of the satellite companies. I suspect they are lying again and referring to the ratings given to the local people that do the actual installation of equipment.
We gave the gentleman who installed the dish the highest ratings possible because he was knowledgeable, professional, efficient and very pleasant.
However, if you have a choice don't use Directv. The company makes offers they do not honor. As far as I am concerned, they voided the contract first.
They are liars and thieves and I really hate supporting them.
They get a solid F rating from the BBB from their customers. How they can claim superiority in customer service escapes me. Sounds like another lie.
