My mother and I subscribed to Uverse over a year ago. Till this day, we have never been given an accurate amount owed on our bill. They add charges that never existed to our bills and then 'correct' them miraculously after we are forced to spend literally from 8 in the morning until 5 at night. This is every month. They have even issued large sum credits to our account for the hassel but as of yet, have never actually fixed our account.
This month is notable. Last month, after we called disputing a $250.00 bill, in which they informed us that we never paid for July, August, September, October or November. Somehow, it took them over five months to turn off the service. They then added over 60 dollars in 'reconnect' fees. They finally admitted to their mistake, credited back the money and we paid the 40 dollars they claimed we actually owed them. They told us to call back on March the 4th to get on a promotional deal where instead of a 100 dollar bill, we would get a 79 dollar bill.
We received an email this morning informing us that we owed them 249.00. We have also been requesting paper bills, which they have neglected to give us. My mother is currently still on the phone as I'm typing this, having been on the phone since 9 am. They actually have finally admitted that she owes them only 188.00. However, they can't explain where that figure came from. They are now claiming that we have an overdue balance from JULY.
My mother has been called a liar by this company and she has been threatened with legal action if she did not pay the amount they claimed she owed them. After that conversation, she spoke to someone else who gave her a 100 dollar credit for her 'pain and suffering'.
We spend EVERY month on the phone ALL day with these people. My mother is sixty years old. I would hate to think they're attemping to swindle old ladies out of money, but honestly after this much hassle there is no way else to consider this. This is extortion.'Pay us any amount we send you, no matter how ridiculous and unfounded, or we'll turn off your service and sue you'. I am so totally disgusted right now. I understand why they haven't opened any offices yet. It would be flooded with people fed up with this horrible service.
