After closing my dish network account almost a year ago with a balance of $0.00 on good terms I have recieved two bills for an account that is no longer open. When I called their offices there was no corprate personel, no legal department to talk to and not one single person would actualy send me a statment stating that I no longer have an account with them. They said all they could do was send a bill stating that I owed nothing, when asked why a billon dollar corporation could not type on a statment that this account was no longer open all I recieved form the head supervisior "Mena" was "umm we don't do that."
Now I know there has to be something illegal about this pratice, at least as far as the IL Attorney Genral is concerned so I inquired all information that is to be made public for filling a complaint against any business doing business in the state of Illinios Contacts legal etc. And they had none, as per my conversation with all of their represenatives. Then I insisted that it is against the law to do business in the state of illinios and not provide this information, that's when I recieved a fax number to their legal department!
For those interested the number is 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX
They said their exact words, "have the Attorney General fax us there!"
Anyone please help if you have had a similar experience what are my recourses, and actions if any that I can take? With limited information from them the Illinois Attorney General is useless and won't help.
Watch out for these guys!
