I am confirming what the other two reports (from Drexel and Dave) have stated: Charles Burt is a con man and rip-off artist. I, unfortunately, also chose to "invest" $15,000 in his (non-existant) motor control business. Besides Drexel and myself, I personally know of five others in the metropolitan area who made the same mistake.
He has advertised in New England, Delaware, Maryland and as far away as Colorado for "investors". How many more people are out there that he has ripped off?
His offer to settle with Drexel was to write him a check for the entire $15,000... Which bounced. A criminal complaint is now working its way through the legal process.
Others have pursued him in local municipal courts. He doesn't show up on court dates to face his accusers.
He sold a small project recently, had 4 controllers installed by a licensed contracting company, and promptly wrote 2 or 3 bad checks to them for their installation work. They are after him for payment, and are regretting their decision to let him handle the money. Also, they cannot confirm that the controllers are even working correctly or saving any energy.
After filing for bankruptcy, he changed company names: EMAC - Energy Mgt. And Conservation Ltd is gone. RCB Enterprises LLC is his new ripoff company. And "Motor Master" is his new equipment. No more Motorboss or Powerboss from SOMAR Co.in the UK. Has a guy named Joe Lucci working as his VP of Business Development.
I know my $15K is long gone, with no chance of return. My hope is that anyone looking in to his background will read this. My message: Don't be an investor or "sub-distributor". If a businessowner, don't let him sell you anything because you likely won't get anything, or you'll get something that doesn't work. Stay far, far away from this sociopath and his business.
