I wonder if some rebate companies just automatically deny participants and hope that they don't follow up. I purchased a 4.3" Navigation System from Kohl's in April and was given the rebate form at the time of purchase.
I submitted everything and actually remember checking off each item on the list as I put them into the envelope. Now I have received a postcard saying my submission did not include an original UPC from a qualifying Nextar product.
I have copies of my rebate form and the store receipt; naturally I don't have an original upc code from the box.
When I try to check the status of my rebate at www.web-rebates.com (as indicated on the rebate form) the search returns nothing...
I'm going to try calling the number but I've read that all you get is a recording telling you to check the website.
It's so aggravating to have to go through these hoops twice to try and get a $20 rebate but I think that's exactly what they want... The consumer decides that it's not worth their time and frustration to do the follow up and the company keeps their $20 minus the small cost of the denial postcard.
