In July 1999 I purchased a JVC Camcorder with an extended 3 year service warranty from Circuit City in Clearwater Florida. The Camcorder recently developed a fault and was taken back to Circuit City in Orlando to be repaired.
Yesterday I called the service department (tel: 1-888-333-2333) and was told I would have to pay for the repairs (approx $350) because they had been caused by CORROSION and (of course) corrosion is not covered by the warranty.
I would be very grateful for some help or advice.
Incidentally I have always kept the camcorder in its case when not in use and I hardly think that it is my fault if the product has deterriorated in less than 2 years. But of course corrosion is a very subjective word and I am sure Circuit City frequently use it as an easy get-out clause. They should not be allowed to get away with this. Please can you help?
