Contractor/Installer False info and ripoffs

I ordered Dish Network for my new house in 2004. I upgraded to HD about 3-4 years later. They promised a $100 rebate if I added the DVR. The contractor/installer - had an 800 number that only worked ONCE to make sure the equipment was working - changed out the Dish and added the HD receiver. I had one 301 (non-HD) receiver that was replaced by the HD model. Iasked him if he wanted it back. He said" NO, it is yours, you have paid for it. He also left the old dish and suggested I use it on my RV.

I called India Customer service 3 times for the form to send in for my $100.00 rebate (it has a 90 day expiration period to claim it) and was told "it's in the mail". Obviously it never arrived. When I had receiver problems later, I complained that I had never gotten my rebate, they appologized and credited my account for $25.00 "Good Will".

I had their service tech trouble shoot the second receiver and it was bad. I swapped out the one that had been replaced by the HD model and upgraded the card. It worked fine. I asked the tech if I was to return it. He said he didn't know but that wasn't his job. So I threw the broken received in the trash. About 3 weeks later, I got an empty box and a not to return it. I explained that two of their contractors/employees told me I didn't have to return it. Now I am being charged $100 for the receiver.

I will contact the executive team and see if they will remove the charge. Otherwise, I will change providers and they can send one of their lawyers out to pick up the equipment I still have. I will not send it back.
