Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing in regard to a bill I received for $470.42, it is a bill for early termination.
#1. I did not know I was under a new 2 year contract, NO ONE ever told me of this at any time.
#2. I cancelled because of your company's horribly negligent and pathetic service!

I was very satisfied with DirecTV and for many years (5 plus) I was a loyal customer. I called to schedule an appointment to upgrade to the HD service. I work at home so I had to have an early appointment. The installer never showed up on that first appointment.

I called and complained and we scheduled again for the HD install and. Once again I said I had to have an early appointment (8am to 12 noon). After waiting all morning your guy shows up at 3:00pm.

I had problems pretty much right away with the HD install. Digital glitching, pixilation, audio drop outs etc A couple of days later all of my TV's in the house quit working, they were not getting a signal. I called to report this and they told me they could not send a technician out for another week!
So another week of terrible or no TV (No TV for 4 days) service for us.

The week goes by and your installer DOES NOT SHOW or call once again for his scheduled appointment. This is two out of three service calls that no one showed up! I was very upset and frustrated at this point so I called and canceled my service. Again, at no time was I informed of a cancellation fee.

I would have been happy to keep my DirecTV but I canceled because of YOUR terrible service and complete disrespect of us as paying customers. YOU are paid to deliver a service and YOU DID NOT DELIVER IT!!!
It is your company's fault that I canceled therefore I expect that this $470.42 will be removed from my bill by DirecTV. I will not pay this bill!!!

I am an entertainer in my area, I know a lot of people. I am prepared to go to all of my local TV stations and send an email to my long list (Several thousand) of contacts stating how terrible DirecTV is and how they rip people off! I have already contacted my lawyer about this matter and he is prepared to help me as well.
I will also post a copy of this letter on the complaint and Squeaky Wheel web sites.
Also, I will contact the FCC and The Better Business Bureau.

Please remove this $470.42 charge from my bill. It is the right and fair thing to do. If your company is not a complete scam this will happen.
