I signed up with Dish Network and was looking forward to getting the service. I scheduled a time for the installation (the only times they do it are during working hours) and agreed that I would be there for the 5 hour appointment slot they require. That meant I had to take 5 hours of vacation from my job. They called to confirm and let me know I needed to have everything ready, tvs and equipment out from walls, etc. Ahead of time, so I had to have extra time for that too. I have a complicated AV system, so I needed to change that around considerably also. All of that took about an hour. They insisted I needed to be there during the entire 5 hours slot, so I sat home all that afternoon, but they never came.
After 3 hours, I called and they said they'd call back. After a little more than 4 hours into the 5 hour appointment slot, they called to tell me I was next and that it could take up to 4 hours for them to complete the installation. I told them I had other commitments that evening and might not be there by the time they got there. At a little more than 5 hours, I had to go.
When I got home later, I had a message at 5:20 saying they were coming. I had a note on my garage door with a time of 5:30 for when the installer finally got there, but by then there was no one there of course. I then had to take time to put everything back together again, so I could have a working house again, which took close to another hour.
Be aware that when they schedule a 5 hours block, they mean they MIGHT show up any time in that slot, and after they do, they may need as much as another 4 hours, so you need to have 9 hours available to get Dish Network, and even then they might not show up during your 5 hour appointment AT ALL!
Their suggestion for resolution: Schedule a new 5 hour appointment slot.
