Do not buy your cell phone service from these liars!

Me and my husband were looking to switch from Sprint to AT&T and decided that Best Buy had some nice phones to choose from. We talked to the first guy (don't know his name) who told us all of the phone we were looking at (including a nice Blackberry) all cost $15 extra a month for the data plan (after we pressed him for the data, they weren't very forthcoming at first about the extra charges). We thought, ok, that sounds good so me and my husband walked around a bit thinking over if we should go with AT&T and maybe get the data plan added on as well. We decided to go ahead and do it and came back and asked about getting the Blackberry since i've heard nice things about them.

Then the guy tells me that the data charge for that one is $30/month, say what? He had just told us they were all $15/month now the blackberry is $30/month for data? I asked him which phones had the $15/month plan and he roamed his hands over *all* of the surrounding phones and said "all of these except the Blackberry".. Ok, we started getting a bit frustrated by this point but said "Ya, we'll take the Blackjack instead x 2". So we were then handed off to some other guy named CHRIS who we talked to about the phones and asked about all the various charges. He started the activation process and came back and asked if we wanted the $30/month data plan... Um, NO, that would be $15/month there you LIARS.

Turns out that *all* those phones he said were $15/month were actually $30/month plans. Nothing but dirty liars! So I complained and was about to walk out, he said he's call his AT&T rep and see if he can get us a month of the data service free for our inconvenience of him LYING to us.

He comes back around 5 minutes later and said that he can't give us any free months, but if we sign up for the $30/month data services on each of the two phones that they would waive the activation fee... Wait WHAT activation fee? Oh great, now he's pulling ADDITIONAL fees out of his arse that he *never bothered to tell us*!! The activation fee for switching from Spring to AT&T is pretty substantial too, it's around $36 for the first phone and $27 for the 2nd phone. Nice of him to only reveal this after we caught him LYING to us about the data add on fee.

So after properly scolding him for his ridculousness and making sure our current phones were not going to be switched over, I complained to the store manager who didn't seem to have sink into his brain that this guy was OUTRIGHT LYING TO CUSTOMERS. He seemed more concerned about explaining how phone plans work and said he'd talk to the mobile team manager and tell them they need to understand what they are selling better, which they SHOULD know what the are selling, they sell this stuff everyday, how can they be this ignorant. Unless they were doing it on purpose!

Anyways, I recommend to stay FAR FAR away from the Brookfield Best Buy store for *anything* cell phone related!
