Philips will never see my business again and I will be sure to share my experience about their ridiculously poor customer service with the video queue at 1-800-531-0039, with everyone I know.

I called them on the 10th because my remote quit working on my philips dvd player which renders their brilliantly designed piece of garbage useless. Well I spoke with a lady who said it could be replaced but there might be a small charge if it wasnt covered by warranty. She then took my credit card information and told me she would call me back with information on whether it was covered by warranty, she assured me she would call back within a few minutes.

Thinking that Philips was a reputable company and could be trusted, I agreed. Guess what! Big Mistake! No callback! So the next morning the 11th I called back and spoke with a manager who called himself Thad in the video queue. He told me that the prior person I spoke with placed an order (without my permission) and that my total was to be 54.60 and no warranty coverage would be in effect.

I told him I did not authorize any order as of yet and told him to immediately cancel the order as the DVD player could be replaced with a new one for under $100 (one with a warranty). He assured me the order would be cancelled.

Well today I noticed on 11/21 that there was a charge on my credit card for the $54.60, thinking I could easily resolve this I called the 1-800-531-0039 for Philips video queue again and spoke with a very rude woman named Deana who claimed to have no notes of the prior calls. She refused to let me speak with a supervisor and basically told me that the order could not be cancelled without faxing her my credit card, and even then I would be charged a restocking fee that would probably be almost as much as the amount they already stole from my credit card.

I have never seen anything like this before with an electronics company. I tried again today to resolve this with them directly to no avail. Now I will have to dispute the charge with my credit card.

This company is not worth dealing with.in my case, the product didn't last and their customer service dept. Is in Jamaica and can barely speak english, they will not help you with your problem, and in my case stole money from my credit card through an unauthorized charge.
